Aquacell Stormwater System

Today was install day for the new Aquacell Stormwater System that has been designed to attenuate all stormwater from the right of way at this development. With stormwater management becoming increasingly important for infill development, the Aquacell system provides a means of infiltrating, attenuating, storing and conveying rainwater. For this development the task for our Aquacell units was attenuation, in which the stormwater is collected in the Aquacell detention gallery and released at a reduced rate. This reduces peak flows thereby minimising the risk of flooding and erosion.

The install was a great success with everything going smoothly and to plan. We had Gary from Raincell Ltd on site to oversee the install given this was our first time using them, with a quick demonstration we had them installed and clipped together in no time. The strength of the units once clipped together is remarkable, we had our 8 ton digger drive over immediately and the units didn’t budge. The units themselves are wrapped in geo fabric to provide a silt barrier around the complete system. We then covered with a layer of sand binding before the AP40 shellrock was laid over the top. In this instance we will have two in kerb sumps with a silt trap which collects the ROW runoff and drains to the aquacell storage system.

Section2 can provide a complete solution to your stormwater needs in the Whanganui region. Starting from a detailed stormwater report submitted to council which covers the soakage rate specific to your site then calculated the required units to mitigate the post development requirements. Once Whanganui District Council have approved we can then provide a full supply and install of the Aquacell units which will include a producer statement verifying the install to submit to council..
